Seishindo
Cultivating a Pure Heart and a Simple Mind
Seishindo is a human potential discipline designed to help you live in an emotionally balanced, life-affirming manner; to more consistently live with enthusiasm, compassion, and a sense of truly belonging in the world. Seishindo is a Japanese term which can be said to mean "the cultivation of a pure heart and simple mind" or "the cultivation of the whole self". When you study this system you are invited to enter into a fuller relationship with your body, to become more aware of your surroundings, and to experience the connection that you have to all of life. The philosophies, theories, and practices drawn upon are taken mainly from: Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, "Sei Tai", NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Ericksonian Psychology, Cybernetics, and Self Relations Therapy. This engaging discipline was founded by Charlie Badenhop, a native New Yorker. Charlie has been working as a coach, bodyworker, hypnotherapist, and workshop facilitator since 1985, when he first arrived in Japan. Charlie is a fourth degree black belt and certified instructor of Aikido in Japan, and a certified trainer in NLP and Ericksonian Hypnosis. He is also a long term practitioner of various forms of bodywork, Self-relations therapy, the Japanese healing arts of sei tai and seiki jutsu, and Yoga. Charlie runs his organization from Tokyo, Japan. You can view his webpage at
