On Purpose

Reaching a greater level of financial prosperity takes a lot of work. Not only in the area of your finances, but also in the area of who you are and why you do what you do. Unless you tackle and address every area of your life, your financial successes will be short lived and you would not have learnt and applied some very important personal life lessons. Throughout this chapter I want to address the areas of being deliberate in your actions as too many people just sit back and wait for their financial position to change for the better. I will even go as far as to say people are just waiting for that “lucky break” to come along. I know that we have already discovered why you need to have a purpose for your financial success, but you also need to do it ON purpose as well. You need to make sure your choices are deliberate and thoroughly thought out. Sometimes with some people there seems to be no real effort or planning involved. That is a very one dimensional way to operate in an area, your finances, that has more than one dimension. Your financial success is extremely multi-faceted. It has so many sides to it, so to just concentrate on what will bring more money into your bank account really is just one part of the bigger picture. We all need to be deliberate in our choices, our actions, and our attitudes towards financial success. If not, you are then just leaving yourself open to take on whatever comes your way, good or bad. When you understand this principal, you can then totally focus on what it is you want and where it is you want to go. Being deliberate with your course and direction will really make sense out of what will actually be involved and what will actually be needed to get you there. Understanding this will clear away some of the confusion and misunderstandings a lot of people have about financial security and financial success. You see there are so many myths out there today on what it is you “have” to do to become wealthy. If only it was that easy. Once you have a plan of attack, then and only then are you able to move in a forward direction. As I previously stated, there are a lot of people who are just waiting to their financial success to happen to them. They don’t really want to put themselves out, they don’t really want to be more strategic, they just think that seeing as they have put a little bit of effort in, and they have been a nice person, it should just happen to them for those reasons. WRONG! You need to understand right now that getting to a better financial position in your life requires a great deal of focus, direction and deliberate actions, choices and thought processes.
