If you have ever studied economics at school or university, you would have learn t about what is called the wscarcity or poverty model. When I was taught economics at university I was told it is the study of scarce resources. Essentially, there are two different ways of looking at the world. Most people look at it through the scarcity model hence why they lack things in their life. In the beginning of this chapter you were introduced to a story about the apricot tree and the reality that there is an abundance in the world. If we look once again the the 'Law of Opposites' and realize that most people in the world see life through the scarcity model, then we can see immediately that the abundance model is the mind set we should adopt. I look at he world in abundance and that is probably why I have an abundance of things in my life. Isn't it interesting? But that was not always the case .I used to think that for someone to be rich, they must take from others, in other words, they win and someone else loses. I thought, "I am not like that, I want to help other people , but still do well at the same time." If I was going to become wealth I wanted to feel good about it, not become wealthy from being someone who rips people off. At this time, my millionaire mentor said, "Jamie, the secret to success in the 21st century has nothing to do with working hard and everything to do with helping other s become wealthy in some way. that has always been the key to creating wealth." The other thing he talked about was that if all the wealth on the planet were divided equally, everyone would be worth close to 3 million dollars right now, including people in third world countries.
